Josef Zezulka was a notable personality of Czech spiritual and philosophical culture. On 30 March 1945 at the age of 33, he experienced a state of open consciousness – consciousness of a bringer. Subsequently, he formulated the philosophy of Existence and established a new healing discipline called Biotronics. At a later stage he was involved in Czech and international research aimed at incorporating Biotronics into the public healthcare system.

Mr. Zezulka’s only interest was to promote this so needed field in the healthcare system. He claimed that sole medicine does not represent the entire healthcare system. That is why he had endeavoured to establish a direct cooperation with medical doctors for many times. Even the president of the Academy of Sciences, Jaroslav Kožešník, released a written testimonial, designating Josef Zezulka as a professional involved in a new field of science and his work requires suitable conditions respectively. This almost came true much later, as the then Minister of Health MUDr. Vlček visited Josef Zezulka. As a result, preliminary research of cancer patients was carried out. The research project had been so successful, that a treatment project for these patients was developed. It was happening back in 1968. However, Mr. Prokopec, a new minister of the Normalization era, appointed short prior to the project launch, did not follow up on supporting the whole activity.

It was only in 1982 when Mr. Zezulka could show his art at the hospital in Vimperk, Czech Republic, where, together with several other healers, he participated in research supervised by a medical doctor. The treatment plan involved two 14-day cycles. Unfortunately, the plan was not brought to completion, since, despite having been approved by the respective authorities, the communist police intervened during the second cycle and the research was discontinued. Still, original protocols exist for this treatment.

Zezulka's lectures as well as practical results attracted considerable appreciation in the 1980s, his work was published in a number of foreign publications and consequently invitations came. In addition, USA as well as the former Soviet Union expressed interest in his work (Prof. Parker, Stanley Krippner and Prof. Injusin from Almaty). The communist regime, however, disfavoured such efforts. The publishing of his works was carried out secretly within samizdat while some of them were published in the western countries (Psychoenergetics Systems – published in New York, Paris, London; also the Realms of Healing and others). At the same time he was giving secret lectures.

At the end of his life he entrusted the discipline to his long-standing disciple Tomáš Pfeiffer so as to take care of its management and continuance.
